Robert Gunstone is the Managing Director of the Turtle Mountain Seed Co. (Formerly Nestibo Agra) and also is passionate about volunteering part time as the President of the Wild Bird Feeding Industry Research Foundation. In 2020, Robert joined the Team at Nestibo Agra and started the rebranding process as they changed their focus to feeding Wild Birds. With this company branding change, the “Sunnys” straight Seeds and “Turtle Mountains Finest” brands were developed.

Planning, organizing, coaching, managing and leading have always been core strengths to Robert as he developed his relationship skills by listening to customer and co-worker needs and developing innovative solutions to meet them. These entrepreneurial skills have supported him well as his work life has touched all departments in the hospitality, retail and process manufacturing industries.

To expand the Wild Bird Feeding experience, Robert helped lead the charge in Canada to implement and execute a process to extend the shelf life of wild bird food products. He is also a passionate leader in North America that believes in sharing the Wild Bird Feeding benefits as an industry. Study results contracted by the Wild bird feeding industry research foundation have helped the categories life cycle blossom over the years. Robert also sits as the Chair for the BIG Committee of the wild bird feeding institute which is implementing an International Marketing program to educate and engage more wild bird feeders. This is to encourage retailers to carry more products on shelf and to educate more consumers about all the benefits of getting engaged in the wild bird food category. 

Robert and his wife Genevieve for over 25 years have raised two bright young girls in Southern Ontario on the shores of Lake Erie. They enjoy their time away from work being active outdoors with family and friends. 

Roberts bird-a-thon team record has exceeded 115 species in six hours!
